You can do something about crime in your neighborhood!
In order to ensure the safety and well being of the residents in Mililani, the MTA Board of Directors created the Mililani Neighborhood Security Watch (NSW) Office. Working with HPD, it is the Mililani NSW Program’s job to start a NSW on every street and cul-de-sac in Mililani.
What does Mililani NSW Program have to offer?
- Material and office resources! Groups can use Rec Centers for meetings, make copies of flyers and use office resources.
- Participant packets Each member of an NSW fills out a join up form that is turned into a phone tree, block map and neighborhood Information Sheet for all of the participants in your neighborhood to have. Packets are mailed out to each participant with window decals and tons of safety and security information that is important for your family to know.
- A monthly newsletter with crime statistics for your area and other important information is given out to all NSW participants.
- Continuing education opportunities and events. In high crime areas, we will set up Citizen Patrols, and even Mobile Watch Groups. There will also be workshops and events for participants to learn more about how to keep their home and family safe.
- The Mililani NSW Program will be advocating and lobbying the City Council and State Legislature. We will support bills that will help decrease crime and increase resources for crime prevention programs.
- We are starting a Business Watch Program for our area businesses too.
